Olson comes to Huntingdon following a three-year stint at Basalt High School in Colorado, where he served as the Head Coach of Men's Soccer, a Women's Soccer Assistant, an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach, and taught middle school math. Leading the school's soccer programs, Thomas managed nearly 65 combined athletes while designing and implementing game plans for each team and coordinating with the school's Athletic Director on Administrative duties. Fostering a culture of developmental growth on the field, in the classroom, and within the local community, Olson led the women's team back to the playoffs in 2022 and 2023 while guiding the men's team to a winning record for the first time since 2016 in 2023.
While coaching at Basalt, Olson also served as a soccer coach for the Elite Performance Academy in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. While there, Thomas built training plans that consisted of high volume technical skill work, assisted in private and group training sessions for field players and goalkeepers, and coached players who play club, high school, and at all three NCAA Divisions. In 2024, he earned his USSF D License.
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Birmingham-Southern College in 2019 in Collaborative Education(General and Special Education).
